The Development Agency of Karditsa – Development Agency of Local Authorities, or AN.KA as we are used to calling it, represents a necessary tool at the disposal of the Prefecture and the wider area. The leaders of local authorities had the wisdom – and the courage – to set it up on 1989. Since then, AN.KA has accumulated great expertise in various fields, which has been proved valuable in any development effort of our area.

Apart from providing specialized technical support to public, self-governing, collaborative, social, private bodies and companies, AN.KA serves two very important social and deeply political procedures: citizens' and bodies’ awareness as well as support to open social debate among both citizens and several groups of interest on any issue related directly or indirectly with the development of our area. This service is organised in a scientific way and management adequacy.

The site you have visited is designed to serve precisely these processes: awareness and open social debate. Even the presentation of our company’s work does not intent to attract "new customers". However, all we want is to disseminate our work in order to enable any person to participate, judge, comment, propose, use the results, benefit from the actions and make best use of available resources.

In this way AN.KA is getting better and more efficient. It gathers up development data, information, ideas, the reflections, desires and restraints of the citizens, the collective and public bodies. Then, - based on the development strategic directions set by elected bodies of our area – AN.KA studies in depth and converts all this diverse material into project plans, funding proposals, initiatives undertaken at local level and policy proposals. Therefore, the official decision-making bodies within the prefecture of Karditsa are provided with scientifically documented working papers, elaborated proposals and presentations. All the above facilitates, speeds up and enhances our work in the most efficient way.
